Wheelchair Art Brings Disability Awareness to First Coast

JACKSONVILLE, FL - On Saturday, April 16th the Independent Living Resource Center hosted its 2nd annual Abilities in Art project at the Riverside Arts Market. Visitors had the opportunity to create art using wheelchairs. Thirty volunteers assisted by painting the wheels for participants which rolled over three blank canvases.

“The project provided tangible disability awareness to First Coast residents,” said Tyler Morris, The ILRC’s Director of Marketing and Development. “We appreciate the support from Riverside Avondale Preservation and
the Riverside Arts Market. We have enjoyed watching this project grow.”

Art created at Abilities in Art will be available to purchase at The Mystery Trip Suitcase Party on Saturday, May
